About you or your band:
Havoc Effect is raw unrestricted fury coupled with intense energy and smooth hypnotic rhythms that touches the recesses of your soul and leaves you asking- no pleading for more. Struggles and hardships fuel this politically charged charged group, presenting new ideas to listeners, invoking thoughts, questions, and inciting resistance. Havoc Effects music can be described as a mashup of Tool-like grooves, combined with the thrash and fury of the Deftones. Their sound can also be compared to Nonpoint, with the vocals ranging from a subtle melody to a commanding powerful scream.

The birth of Havoc Effect can be traced to a meeting in late 2003 between vocalist William Miranda and drummer Alfred Soler. While involved in different projects, the two came up with the vision of Havoc Effect- an entity that existed to analyze and evaluate the demons that came from within and ultimately destroy those demons. They recruited long time friend, Luis Pitarqui, to play guitar for the group. Instantly, ideas jelled into moving songs that reflected the goals of the group, to break down and build up, indentify and conquer...the vision was becoming a reality.

An ad was placed to find a bassist who had the same hunger, that could add groove and style to the group. Nestor Reyes answered the ad, and for the next 3 years contributed the rhythmic portioned that helped shape and identify the sound of Havoc Effect. Family obligations led to his departure, and after a long hiatus, Havoc Effect returned to the scene with new recruit, Dan Grossberg in early 2007. Since then, the group has been fighting fiercely to get their sound recognized and their message heard nationwide.

Havoc Effect has become a local favorite, playing numerous shows a month ranging from smaller, local bars, to 500 capacity venues. They have opened for national acts Gizmachi, Throdl and Black Market Hero, and will share the stage later this year with Powerman 5000. The insatiatiable hunger of this group has been recognized by local media, receiving coverage in The Aquarian Weekly, The Bergen Record, and The Star Ledger. They've received airtime on 89.5 WSOU, 95.1 WZZO, as well as numerous internet radio stations. The group plans to write and record new material, for an early 2008 release.

Does it fit? Does it matter?

Last Saturday we had the pleasure of playing in Dunmore, Pennsyltucky. 2.5 hours to get there, 3.5 home. No pay, don't care, we just love playing.

So we get there, the place is desolate, much like the surrounding area. Load in, load up on drinks and a crowd begins to file in. Looking offstage, there is a great mix of people, some in mohawks, others with old school metal shirts, and some preps, some jocks. Of course its awful to prejudge by looks of what someone is into, but i'm just try… Continue
